West Kendall Baptist Hospital, the first new hospital built in Miami-Dade County in thirty-five years, was planned to be the centerpiece of a new urban town center in the westernmost part of the county, occupying 30 acres.
The 290,000 square-foot facility is designed to withstand Category 5 hurricane winds with built-in expansion capabilities, and the current 133-bed facility is conceptualized to expand to 300 beds. Designed with a hospitality mindset, the public areas are segregated from the patient and service core, offering gathering spots for both guests seeking access to medical services and the community at large.
