Positioned on 100 acres of university-owned land within Winston-Salem’s North Central Planning Area, The Grounds is a transformative mixed-use redevelopment designed to drive long-term value for both public and private stakeholders.
Developed in partnership with Wake Forest University, the city of Winston-Salem, Carter, Front Street Capital, and master planned by NELSON, this project strategically aligns with the 2015 North Central Planning Area recommendations—including greenway connections between Wake Forest’s Reynolda and Athletic campuses, dedicated bike infrastructure, and a Complete Streets approach to University Parkway.
Planned program includes 100,000 SF office with residential above, 40,000 SF of boutique retail and chef-driven restaurants, and walkable public realm and activated green spaces
