NELSON Worldwide is providing design services for the build-out of the 7th and 8th floors of the Palm Beach Main County Courthouse, originally constructed in the early 1990s with 80,000 SF of shell space reserved for future expansion. This $39,925,000 project will accommodate critical judicial functions, including Courts, Court Administration, Case Management, a Judicial Conference Center, Guardian Ad Litem, Public Defender, and the State Attorney.
The newly designed court floor features six state-of-the-art courtrooms—four criminal and two civil—along with six judicial chambers, jury deliberation rooms, prisoner holding areas, and essential support spaces. Prioritizing accessibility and efficiency, the design integrates universal ADA accommodations and advanced courtroom technology. Abundant natural light enhances the intuitive wayfinding experience, while custom oak millwork, fabric-covered acoustical panels, and luminous ceiling details create a bright, welcoming environment for staff, judges, and the public.
