We partnered with Baptist Health South Florida and the Miami Heat to repurpose a medical office building in Coral Gables into a brand-new orthopedics center of excellence. The challenge was to reconfigure the 49,000 square-foot facility to follow the organization’s new patient care model and refocus on an elevated patient experience.
The new space features state-of-the-art exam rooms, updated staff lounges, clearly defined wayfinding, and a centrally located parking garage with easy access to each level. Waiting rooms on every floor feature modern aesthetics and mural walls with sports imagery. In addition, computers, cell phone charging stations, and self-service coffee stands are conveniently located to offer a more hospitable and welcoming experience.
Individual quiet seating, family and group seating, in addition to workspace are scattered throughout. A dedicated circulation area is on the opposite side of the exam pods, allowing staff and physicians to work without interfering with guest areas.
The center will also be a clinical trial site for new orthopedic surgery methods including novel implants and genetically engineered cartilage, bone, and revolutionary biologics. The revamped facility offers healthcare providers a dynamic setting to perform life-saving work, all while keeping the patient experience, from diagnosis to treatment and recovery, at the forefront.
