We led the design of a $5 million renovation project for Jeff Ruby Culinary Entertainment where we transformed an existing warehouse to create a two-level, 11,000 square-foot, upscale restaurant in downtown Columbus, Ohio. The space celebrates the brand by honoring its historic roots, while adding a unique, local twist for the city of Columbus.
Leveraging Ruby’s signature, over-the-top iconic style and attention to detail, our design applies his vision to the 100-year-old space, careful not to lose the building’s original architectural integrity. Spanning two levels of art deco-inspired interiors, the restaurant features tufted velvet walls, Venetian mirrors, stained-glass domes, and a remarkable antique collection – many of which Ruby himself acquired over the years.
Layered within the luxurious details is a celebration of the city. The private Buckeye Room showcases the area’s collegiate heritage, complete with a Souzaphone chandelier, a reference to the Ohio State Marching Band. In addition, sports paraphernalia line the walls including trophies, helmets, and autographed footballs.
