Hennepin Partners
A refined workplace built for long-term growth in Minneapolis' financial corridor
Hennepin Partners selected NELSON through a competitive RFP process to design an 11,674 SF office within Capella Tower. The scope included interior architecture and full construction documentation, with the goal of creating a workplace that supports long-term growth while reinforcing a secure, professional presence in Minneapolis’ competitive financial services market.
Hennepin Partners’ previous office was undersized and positioned directly off an elevator lobby, offering little privacy and limited opportunity to reflect the firm’s culture. In response, NELSON worked closely with the client to understand what would best support their people, their work, and their long-term goals, allowing the design to be shaped by Hennepin Partners’ specific needs rather than industry conventions. The new office was envisioned as a secure, well-planned environment that elevates the experience for both employees and guests. Flexibility was a key driver, with the layout designed to accommodate future expansion without increasing the footprint. A timeless aesthetic emerged from this process, prioritizing longevity, refinement, and relevance over trends or overt branding.
NELSON’s design approach focused on restraint and practicality. Rather than overcomplicating the space, the team prioritized clarity, proportion, and material longevity. Demountable glass walls were used to bring daylight deep into the floorplate, creating openness and transparency while maintaining appropriate levels of privacy. The plan efficiently supports sit-stand workstations, private offices, and a dedicated community gathering area that reinforces Hennepin Partners’ collaborative culture. Throughout the space, form follows function, resulting in an environment that feels composed, intentional, and purpose-built.
The Hennepin Partners office highlights NELSON’s strength in delivering on-budget workplace solutions for wealth management and financial services clients. By listening closely, planning efficiently, and designing with intention, the team created a workplace that supports growth, reinforces trust, and unlocks long-term value through design.
