When Goodwin Procter LLP established their new permanent home in Philadelphia—a flagship location within Brandywine’s life-sciences-focused Schuylkill Yards—it was more than a relocation; it was a bold statement of their commitment to the healthcare and life sciences sectors they serve. It was also an opportunity to redefine the “law firm of the future.”

Partnering with our workplace experts, they set out to create a cutting-edge environment that merges innovation, flexibility, and hospitality. With a focus on supporting their newly established hybrid work policy and enhancing the employee and client experience, we transformed 31,500 SF across the 7th and 8th floors into a dynamic, functional, and forward-thinking workspace.

Another defining feature of this “law firm of the future” was a fun-inspiring amenity — a communal space featuring a ping-pong table, a specialty coffee maker, booths for private conversations, and a TV for streaming major events. This fusion of traditional and modern workplace elements fosters a sense of community.

The highly functional and expanded conference center now includes a dedicated catering kitchen and a visitor office for clients needing private workspace. The reimagined café was strategically located to encourage interaction and connection. Reservable workstations provide greater flexibility, seamlessly blending hospitality and workplace design to elevate both employee and client experiences. We redefined what a law firm can be—for Goodwin, it prioritizes equality, hospitality, and connection.
