A Chicago-based financial services firm that has experienced tremendous growth in recent years tapped our team to design a new office space that encourages productivity and collaboration for its growing team. Located in a new downtown high-rise, the 86,000-SF space set the standard for all other firm offices moving forward.
The new workspace features private offices and workstations for its growing staff, a cafe, and collaboration areas with an aesthetic that balances modern with timelessness and refined with dynamic characteristics. As employees, clients, and other guests move about the new office, a color palette that mimics warm earth-like tones and rich materiality reinforces the design ethos and corresponds with the Chicago skyline. To further capitalize on the building’s setting, our team thoughtfully designed a reception area with open risers and a unique staircase. By incorporating the expansive windows and layout, a sense of arrival and a focal point was created for employees and guests entering the space.
On all three floors, there are working spaces and collaboration areas for attorneys—both an open workspace and corner spots where staff can conduct work or have brainstorming sessions. The firm embraced a forward-thinking approach to the legal workplace, with universal size offices for all attorneys. With the firms’ continued growth and expansion in Chicago, the new office will position the client to be a continued leader in corporate, transactional, litigation, and regulatory services.
