NELSON Worldwide partnered with a confidential financial client to reimagine 239 Van Rensselaer Street in Buffalo, New York, into an innovative office space. Located in Buffalo’s historic Hydraulics Neighborhood, the office spans three floors, celebrating its industrial roots with exposed brick, columns, and wood ceilings. The design integrates local Buffalo culture through storytelling elements and artwork by Cassandra Ott, highlighting scenes of Buffalo’s architecture and nature.

The first floor features a dynamic social hub designed for collaboration and dining, enhanced by murals that infuse vibrancy and local flair into the space. In contrast, the open office areas are designed with a muted palette, promoting a calm and focused environment. This approach, mindful of neurodiversity, accommodates diverse workstyles with flexible furniture and specialized workstations, while incorporating greenery and inclusive design elements to support employee wellbeing.

Maximizing the building’s historic architecture and emphasizing connection, wellbeing, and inclusivity, the redesigned office reflects the client’s commitment to nurturing meaningful social connections and investing in the local community.
