NELSON Worldwide Welcomes New Workplace Practice Leader
Chicago, IL — March 20, 2020 — Award-winning architecture, design, and strategy firm NELSON Worldwide is pleased to announce the addition of Barbara Riekse as Workplace Practice Leader. Based in the firm’s Chicago office, Riekse will bring with her over 34 years of experience in commercial real estate, design project leadership, and construction and management, and will offer a fresh perspective, as well as a strategic vision that will help drive innovative workplace strategies in NELSON offices across the country.

As a results-oriented business leader and team builder, Riekse applies a broad industry experience to each project, quickly recognizing and leveraging shifts in the business landscape and adapting to relevant emerging trends. A trusted advisor, Riekse clearly and succinctly communicates ideas to team members and clients alike to generate effective operational real estate, facility, and workplace strategies.
Previously, Riekse held the position of Principal and Workplace Studio Leader at Stantec Architecture, where she enabled global and consistent approaches to workplace practice strategies for clients including BMO Harris, Google, Astellas, Northwestern Medical Hospital, and United Airlines. During her tenure at Stantec Architecture, Riekse secured over $5M in new fees in corporate commercial, science, and technology practices through effective new business development.

Barbara Riekse received her Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and Political Science from Hope College in Holland, Michigan. She also holds a Board Member title at Anixter Center and is a Corporate Member at CoreNet Global.
