Bohemian Charm in an Art Deco Facade
By: NELSON Worldwide
During a recent trip to Los Angeles, I had the opportunity to the stay at the newly opened Palihotel in Culver City. This 1920’s-era boutique hotel is overflowing with vintage charm, from the art deco exterior, complete with the original “Hotel West End” sign, to the interior courtyard of the Simonette bistro and bar. The 49-room hotel offers modern amenities with plenty of bohemian character. The Simonette creates a social hub anchoring the quaint lobby space, with an indoor/outdoor bar featuring all day food and beverage offerings and a courtyard more reminiscent of a french cafe.
As with most boutique hotels, the room size was compact but offered a sizable bathroom that felt light, bright and airy. The minimalist details were juxtaposed with modern winks (…of Ice Cube) and pops of plaid.
