Seyfarth Shaw is an internationally recognized legal firm with more than 900 lawyers across 17 offices providing advisory, litigation, and transactional services. Our long standing relationship with the firm includes designing and implementing seven projects across the country.
Washington, D.C.
Looking to reconfigure their Washington D.C. office, Seyfarth Shaw tapped us to design and execute a new space that better supported its growing staff’s needs. After test fitting various locations, the Seyfarth Shaw team ultimately chose to renovate their existing office and acquire an additional floor to their four-story space to accommodate multiple new amenities and workstations.
The refreshed space includes additional attorney offices, a revamped and expanded cafe, collaboration spaces and a new client facing floor, representing the profiled look the admired AmLaw 100 firm aimed to create in the Washington D.C. market. A new employee cafe is complete with a shaded terrace that doubles as an outdoor workspace, and breathtaking views are visible throughout. Both employees and clients have panoramic views of the city of D.C.
To illustrate Seyfarth Shaw’s vision, our team thoughtfully selected several elements within the office, including luxurious finishes for a custom black marble reception desk with a gold serpentine design, a large golden light fixture that hangs behind each side of the desk, and luxe flooring materials. Behind the reception desk is a custom mosaic, designed by NELSON, Seyfarth, and Sicis Mosaics.
Altogether, we delivered a workplace solution to commensurate with a firm of their profile, with efficiencies that support their growing staff’s needs.
Los Angeles
We partnered with their Los Angeles office to help them relocate to a premier downtown office tower. Using the firm’s progressive SeyfarthLean® approach to legal services as inspiration, we worked with them to develop an efficient, high-energy, and forward-thinking workplace design solution. There are single-size offices for all attorneys, at an efficiency of 550 rentable square footage per attorney, planning for growth while reducing the cost of occupancy. An influx of new collaborative spaces presents all staff members with a variety of work mode options throughout the office. A comfortable, warm design welcomes visitors and staff, utilizing locally produced materials, a green wall, and artwork selections reflective of the local arts community.
