2021 IIDA AWARD WINNER
Passion City Church wanted a new satellite campus in the Cumberland Mall area of Metro Atlanta. NELSON joined Passion to research and assess opportunities associated with the site between I-285 and Cumberland Parkway. This site provided visibility from I-285 along with the ease of access along Cumberland Parkway. The existing four-story office building interior was adapted to church education purposed while the exterior was sheathed in new energy efficient glazing.
A new 1,100-seat auditorium was designed for the Phase I build-out. Phase II includes a 3,000 +/- seat auditorium and parking deck, along with an extensive Green Room area, catering kitchen, and prayer room. A new pedestrian bridge connects to the existing building.
