Jackson Health System Urgent Care – Arch Creek
Balancing welcoming spaces with streamlined clinical workflows
As part of JHS’s commitment to expanding care at the community level, NELSON was engaged to plan, program, and design four freestanding rapid care centers. Serving as the foundation for a community-based urgent care prototype, this 6,000 SF facility was the first to open.
Its efficient design introduces a bright and welcoming Waiting area that maximizes natural light and offers flexible seating—including high-top tables that allow visitors to work while they wait. The registration/reception area is intentionally configured to be both inviting and private, while also enabling minimal staffing. Directly connected to the interior nursing work area, the staff core supports quick, seamless triage, ensuring patients receive care efficiently from the moment they arrive.
