Cobb Strecker Dunphy & Zimmermann, longstanding risk management firm, decided to relocate to their founding address – now Capella Tower, an iconic high-rise in Minneapolis. We worked with the firm to explore current trends and initiatives within the corporate workplace that their previous location could not accommodate.
We led stakeholders to their final design direction through a series of visualization exercises, team interviews, and targeted communications regarding the current and future desired culture scenarios.
The result was a 60 percent reduction in private offices, which are now universal in size and configured to allow for maximum daylight exposure and views. Newly reduced-size workstations, equipped with sit-to-stand work surfaces in “neighborhoods,” allow for increased privacy, sound attenuation, and functional efficiency.
Casual open and closed lounge spaces encourage collaboration. Customized graphics celebrate the firm’s brand and history. Natural materials including wood paneling and a custom moss wall weave a warm and organic aesthetic throughout the work environment.
