2018 ASID INSTITUTIONAL SILVER AWARD WINNER
NELSON was engaged to design a new Workforce Innovation Hub and a Café 180 for the City of Refuge. In refurbishing a current gym space, the team focused on developing new service function spaces for the special required activity zones. An addition of a mezzanine level was important for providing some new functional zones.
The overall developed design expresses energy, creativity and a bright environment for mentoring young individuals and for teaching job placement courses. The design of co-working and meeting spaces included the most up-to-date technology. Café 180 serves as the new hands-on training ground for students of the Culinary Academy.
