We worked with AIS, a high-end furniture manufacturer, to consolidate multiple locations into a new headquarters building. AIS wanted to create a flexible space that would seamlessly integrate the showroom and workspace and allow for easy changes in layout to accommodate the display of changing product lines.
The 23,000 square-foot space opens with a two-story lobby featuring a 20-foot-high green living wall and an overhead floating bridge drenched in natural sunlight by the full skylight above. Custom lighting creates a strong first impression. The first-floor showroom uses track lighting to flexibly highlight current furniture lines. The second-floor workspace utilizes collaborative seating with open workstations, a boardroom, conference rooms, and a large open café for employees, also allowing clients to visualize AIS products in active use. Iconic images from the Boston area celebrate the company’s history and origin and provide statement art throughout the space.
