Our team envisioned activating the courtyard of this 17-story Brutalist office tower on Dewey Square, originally built in 1977. The proposed concept involved fully enclosing its first three floors in glass, creating approximately 12,000 square feet of new retail and restaurant space that would open up to pedestrians, offering an enhanced streetscape and better integration with Boston’s Financial District. A raised platform was also designed to provide beautiful views of the Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy Greenway across Purchase Street. Though this vision was thoroughly developed, it ultimately remained an innovative concept.
