Modernizing maintenance facilities for worker satisfaction
NELSON Worldwide collaborated with King County to revitalize and modernize 70,000 square feet of concrete tilt and metal buildings for their wastewater maintenance facilities. This comprehensive tenant improvement project involved upgrading and expanding the space to better serve the daily operations of the maintenance team.
Key upgrades included the addition of new high bay doors, expanded fleet parking, and a state-of-the-art machine maintenance shop. To enhance the overall functionality and comfort of the facility, new mechanic locker rooms, offices, and boot wash areas were constructed.
In addition to the core operational improvements, the project also focused on enhancing employee amenities. The revitalization introduced a gym, kitchen, classrooms, library, and copy room—creating a more comfortable and efficient environment for employees. These enhancements not only modernize the facility but also promote well-being and collaboration for King County’s wastewater maintenance teams.
This revitalization project was designed to ensure the facility is equipped to meet the growing and evolving needs of King County’s wastewater division, while also improving overall functionality and worker satisfaction.
