We partnered with Georgia’s Own Credit Union to design their new headquarters in downtown Atlanta. The challenge was to create a more open, casual, and modern environment, while connecting employees and promoting a positive culture. With a focus on natural materials, air quality, and active design, the office is the first credit union to achieve Fitwel certification.
This five-level, 120,000 square-foot project features reduced private offices, creating more openness and flexibility throughout. There is extensive collaboration space and a variety of casual areas meant for socializing, working, or relaxing that are separate from the main workspace. With employee wellbeing at the center of design, the circulation system surrounds the core of the building, and windows are installed around the exterior, improving views and access to natural light.
We also developed environmental graphics up and down the walls of the existing core stairwell to encourage employees to take the stairs in place of the elevator. A plaza area on the 30th floor features a history wall highlighting the company’s involvement in the community over time and various employee perks.
