We were tasked with creating a sustainable logistics facility in Park Tacoma, Washington for Prologis, the global leader in logistics real estate. As a result of a collaboration between Prologis and the International WELL Building Institute, our team was challenged to design a building centered on the health and well-being of employees.
The result is the first logistics facility in the world to become WELL Certified. The building has a campus-like feel with complementary styled buildings and a consistent park-inspired paint scheme, monument, and directional signage. Features include a retention pond with water feature and walking path, in addition to indoor skylights and LED lighting, creating a bright and natural environment. Safety yellow columns, insulated doors, and above-minimum ventilation provide a healthy working environment, all elements contribute to the project’s WELL Certification.
