CGL’s AOR Justice team, (now NELSON Worldwide), in collaboration with RSC Architects, undertook the task of modernizing the Bergen County Justice Center, a complex that has evolved over a century with interconnected buildings housing various courtrooms and justice-related spaces. The project aimed to replace inadequate courtrooms, promote growth, streamline court division offices, enhance public wayfinding, and improve security. Using a participatory visioning process, CGL established priorities, provided comprehensive space programming, developed reconfiguration options for improved efficiency, estimated costs, and completed design drawings for significant renovations to the historic complex.
