NELSON Worldwide (formerly CGL) provided architectural services for the renovation and upgrade of the Santa Cruz County Juvenile Hall Detention Facility. Our work included schematic design, design development, and final construction documents in collaboration with County departments and stakeholders. The facility, almost 50 years old, serves juvenile court, detention, and rehabilitation programs. The project aimed to enhance accessibility, structural stability, safety, and security for minors, staff, and the public. It also expanded programming in areas like culinary arts, gardening, food production, family reunification, and business management, promoting personal development and job readiness skills.
